Hey everyone!
It’s been a little while since the season ended and we wanted to send out some updates about the progress we have made out on the course. Some of these items you may have seen on social media or in person; however, we want to share out the information in one consolidated place!
First Upgrade: A Remodel for 7 West
If you played in late fall, you no-doubt noticed the major earthwork on the fairway of 7 West. This project was a combination of upgraded drainage and two new bunkers. Our hope is to mitigate the usual wet spot in the low areas of this fairway while also punishing players that hit a long ball but lack laser-sharp accuracy. Expect to see these bunkers ready for play in the spring!
Second Upgrade: Tee Box Leveling
Just like the last upgrade, you’ll have noticed this in the fall. We have made major improvements to multiple tee boxes located furthest West on the property. The Men’s tee box for #4 W, #6 W, and #7 W all saw flattening and pristine sod. 7 W saw a new tee box added between the traditional white and blue boxes. This extra space will help give some new looks to this drastically changed hole.
Third Upgrade: Various Cleanup Projects
The moment the course closed, our grounds crew hit the ground running on some projects that were in sore need of completion. Many patches of sumac and scrub brush were removed around the property, hopefully giving some other trees the opportunity to grow. In addition to the out-of-play spots, we also removed some trees that were right in the thick of things, like those on the left side of 12 N just before the corner of the swamp. In addition to all this pruning, we have also filled every divot on the course!
Other Items
With our little brag-session out of the way, we did want to hit one last thing before wishing you Happy Holidays. Denise Doyle PGA, our Head of Instruction, is returning to the course for the 2025 season. We cannot stress enough how many good things we heard about Denise’s coaching in her first season with us. Denise is coming back in very early May and wants to start off the season with a bang so get in touch with her soon about lesson slots.
To help Denise out we are running a promotion until December 24th. For every $5 spent on our website, any items, you get an entry to a raffle for a free lesson with her! We are giving out two of these free lessons so make sure to get your gift cards before the holiday season ends. Click the button below to be redirected to our online shop!
With all of that said, we want to wish you and your family, the very happiest holidays!
We cannot wait to see everyone this spring,
The Cedar Knoll Family
